Some time ago, I bought a box of 6.5 120 gr Speer bullets at a gun show. The measure .263”. I have been loading for years. The 6.5 bullets I use in my 6.5/06 & 6.5 grendel are .264”. I think neck tension could be an issue. Can someone chime in?

Are you confident you can measure within .001" with accuracy and reliability?
For example, +/- .001" is the basic accuracy in my Hornady calipers. |

Dillon calipers, starrett micrometer. And most importantly, it says .263 on the box. My other bullets, Hornady, Berger, are all .264”

Interesting, my Hornady bullets for 6.5G are all .264.
A quick search for .263 bullets indicates it may have been the older size. PPU still offers them. |

Wonder if the bullets are for the older bolt guns like 6.5x55 that are a lower pressure ?

More often than not it was 170’s because a lot of the old Swedes had long throats. I could be wrong though... |
