It seems that this round exhibits very good performance in bare gel, but I can’t find much information regarding its performance through barriers. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

I haven’t seen a lot of 6.5 LEO focused ballistic testing

What are you considering as a barrier and for what purpose? There are LE and mil units using 6.5 cm. However, I doubt any of them are using the eld-x as its not a bonded round. Ironically, most of them are using match ammo.

Our guys use the 140 GMX which has been replaced by the 140gr CX.  Just placed an order for the new rounds

You can apply online at Hornady Military-Law Enforcement Guide and they will send you a link for the gel tests if you are LE or Military.

I have an old one from 2018 that shows 147 grain ELD retaining from 52-80 grains through the various test media.  Penetration from 12.5 to 16 inches.  I imagine the heavier jacket of the 143 would improve on that.
