I bought a Gander Mountain blind and now that they've gone out of business there is no one to direct me to who produced the blind.

In an ice storm last Jan., a pole broke.

It is fiberglass, 5/16" diameter and 37 /12 inches long.

I've googled and contacted a few places but no joy.

Anyone have any ideas as to where I might be able to find a replaement?

Thanks

I would search for tent poles which are commonly 5/16.  You might need to combine two to get to your length.

Amazon Product
  • Four 25-5/8" fiberglass tent poles
  • Zinc coated steel ferrules
  • 10' of elastic shock-cord and 29" leader wire

I did see those before starting the thread.

You'd have to combine 2 and cut to get to 37.5 length.

That won't work because:

1] not sure how to cut fiberglass without it fraying
2] these poles are under tension, they are bowed to make the tent taunt, and I don't think these hollow poles would survive that.

Really need a single piece for this configuration.

Thanks

Show me a picture of what you broke/ need.
Check lowes/ home depot/ walmart for driveway marking stakes for edges of the driveway in the winter.

I had a blind do the same thing and I tried these poles or something very much like it and it worked fine. Cut the poles with a Dremel and they won't fray. Use the supplied cord to tie them together. They will bend a lot more than you think they will.

Try Ameristep, they make a number of deer hunting pop up blinds.  They probably have a close replacement.
