Anyone up for an Arfcom QSO?
I'm getting ready to escape to my man-cave shack for tonight. Will probably start on 40m and switch to 80m later at night.
40 meters was wide open yesterday. I made lots of nice DX contacts while browsing the band. Calling CQ, turned into a pile-up of stations calling me for over 2 hours.  I love this hobby!

Ho Lee Cow. I have got to get that. Multiple parallel QSO's. I'm guessing you can still only transmit one message at at time? No reason it couldn't transmit multiple messages.

Got him, thanks.

He mentioned that the Iowa's birthday is this Wednesday and they will be operating on all bands and will be using the ship's old radios as well as modern ones.

I made some good 6M contacts last night.  Was open from NE Oklahoma into the Arizona / SoCal area.  Not too many people on 10M from here though.

The seismometer was right again!

Right now, just alternating between running CQ and answering on JT65 and JT9 across the bands to figure out the proper gain for the new antenna.  Basically starting near zero output and gradually working up to see who answers and from where while watching PSK Reporter.

Holler of you want an Arfcom QSO on 80,40 or 20 meters. 20 meters is wide open tonight with lots of booming signals.
In a while, I'm going to "park" on 14.160-14.180 Mhz, spin the antenna towards Europe and call CQ. Stop by and say hello. I'm W3P** in SC.

It was my pleasure, MyOtherGlock!  I was playing on 20m WSJT-X when JTAlert hollered at me, "Wanted Call"!  I have a lot of regular member calls loaded into the wanted call list.
The Chat Box feature on JTAlert is pretty handy too, isn't it?
Here's a marked-up screenshot of our QSO.

They used to hang out on 14.250. The probably run 10kW+ because they can always be heard at S9++, no matter what band conditions are. One of them can talk fast and non-stop for hours. I know some Spanish but they are hard to understand. Several are probably from Central America based on their accents.

BTW, The band was wide open late last night and early AM, this morning. I called CQ and had a pile-up going within minutes. It lasted for almost 2 hours. I finally had to quit since I could not talk anymore. It was fun though. Several Russian and Ukrainian guys were at S9+30 db. and they gave me the same report. I love late night openings over the North Pole on 20 meters at this time of year. I want to try the same on CW tonight.

So that was you talking russian to the russians? on 14.160. You were S9+30 db . Next time I will say hello.

I made several russian contacts at midnight. I was getting S9 +10 db reports over in Moscow with 100 watts and an inverted V. Band was in rare form. I could hear australia and new zealand but faintly.

Hi guys. I'm not a radio operator, but there is a member who has family in Mexico City and Puebla.  A major earthquake has hit down there. His wife lost family in a quake when she was a teen and is in tears. Any radio operators have contacts down there, or any way to get info beyond the standard communications? Thanks.

ETA they are starting to make contacts with relatives.
