I have a ZIP LOCK vacuum sealer.
Had it for 7 plus years. Like it real well.
(Got it as a gift.)
Need a new one. They stop making the bags for ZL!
So, what to get???
Food Saver?
Vacuum Sealer?
Nutri Chef?
What is out there? My price range is $100.00 to $200.00.
We don't do a cow or two dear a year. But I do use it.

I like my Cabelas 15”. Catch them on sale. Weston makes them. Check both places for prices.

I use a Food Saver basic model that I got on sale from Bass Pro for around $70-$80 8 or 9 years ago. It gets used 3-4 for times a month for chicken and boiled peanuts, fruits and such. Has worked fine so far. Cant imagine that any of the generic vac seal bags wont work in your machine though.

I believe they have changed suppliers, but Weston units are nice

I don’t think you will find one under $200 though

OP,
I suggest you spend more money and get a “commercial” one, or just stick to a basic sealer. The mid range ones seem to just add more features that break, like auto seal, etc.

Spend the money for a quality one.

We had a magic vac that did many fish and moose. We wore it out and parts are not made anymore. There is a new upgraded model.

We bought a cabelas 12in pro series and it takes a bit of use to get the hang of operating it.

If they do seal. They seam to leak after being in the freezer for a shot time a month maybe!
The unit is old. May not clamp down as tigh as a new one. All so the other bags "SEAM" thinner. I think the Zip Loc are a bit thicker.

Thank for the suggestion!!

take it apart and buy a new sealing element.I did this with my foodsaver. The heat element had a kink in it.It started to burn a hole in the bags. Also the teflon had also warn out. Amazon for teflon and a company from Texas for element/s.Maybe some foam gaskets also?

Much cheaper than a new one.

Running a food saver although the BassPro/Calebas look good.   Fact the bags can seal 50 rounds of 9mm in a nice bag.  Fun to do and pisses off the wife a little :)
