I am asking about the 85 watt VHF amp. What have you found that works for you? Regular or pancake fan?

I have a small HF amp which is probably not far different in the heat sink dept. I use an old 12V computer fan. I ran some screws through the mounting holes in the fan and into some wall anchors. The wall anchors sit in the heat sink grooves on top of the fan. The fan is powered from an outlet on the amplifier. hth

I didn't get that fancy on my 2 meter alinco radio that I was using for my IRLP node radio.
I took a 12v computer case fan (either 80 or 120mm size. I dont remember) and just double side taped the 4 corners on the top of the radio. Worked great and kept the radio cool. with that size you dont need high rpm's. It will move air.
