I've never been a boat guy. I've never owned a boat. But I've been in a lot of boats over the years. Fishing in rivers and lakes etc. But now I've got the bug for this type of boat - I've been looking at the small jet riverboats - https://riverratjetboats.com and look like they would be insanely fun around here at the Cumberland river etc where I live. i would use it to ride around and check out the lake/river. I don't really fish anymore. They are about 11 feet long. I just like the compact aspect of this boat and that it can go in very shallow water through some of the large creek areas etc. Just seems like a really fun ride and a great boat to tool around in. They are around 15K to 25K as far as price range. But like I said, I've never owned a boat and this really got me excited to maybe get one lol. Just getting your opinions on the safety of something like this and how those JetSki engines hold up.

Fun as hell but can be dangerous as heck if you are not careful.

On the show Gold rush Parker damn near killed himself and his mechanic Mitch.

I can’t answer your question but my first boat was a 1442 with a six inch tunnel hull and a 25hp Mariner with a Jack plate set up to run shallow. It was a blast down here in our shallow lake and rivers. But it sucked in bigger water. If you just like exploring a 1448 or 1548 with a beaver tail or mud motor with pods might be a cheaper alternative with a better resale value for the duck hunting crowd. It won’t go as fast. If you’re thinking about a jet you might try a jet ski first.

Those things are badass. First ones i saw were on a kayak fishing float trip. That 8 mile section of the Coosa river stretches from Wetumpka, AL,  north to Lake Jordan dam. Twisty, rocky with some Class 2 fall sections.

I saw two thread through a Class 2 spot where I'd turtled over my fishing kayak on a previous float. The boats ate that section like a a potato chip and cruised on.

Was awed and pissed at the same time. Pissed because i love kayaking waters that eat props.
