I popped two hogs the other night and they both have notches in their ears. I should’ve checked to see if they were bar hogs, but I was cramped for time processing them and forgot. One male and one female.
A quick google search said something about litter ID, but these notches don’t correspond to anything on that chart.

Careful out there, that's how the Hatfield's and McCoy thing got started. Shooting someone else's livestock. Pigs used to be let run free in the woods to forage, in the fall when it was cool enough to process they'd be hunted down, and the ear notches were how they were identified. Sorta like a brand.

Bottom pig end notch is registered to me. But I ain’t marked a hog in years. Did it have a V on a sideways F brand? If so My nephew has probably been up to no good!

They can get cut fighting, running through a fence ect. When the doggers catch them they’ll notch the ears. Usually if they notch the ears, they’ll cut them, and dock their tails too . If they’re really ambitious they’ll knock the whetters out with a hammer too
