You're going to like the 7300. I have one along with the same 80-10 end fed antenna. I have it installed as a sloper at 30' and it does OK. Would surely work better installed higher.
Now get studying! |

FWIW the MFJ-1982MP is the exact same thing but cheaper. I had one up for awhile in an inverted-V and it worked great.

Kinda doesn’t make sense for me to buy a more expensive antenna that’s similar if I can’t set it up for nominal performance. |

Good choice! The 7300 is the best bang-for-the-buck rig. I love mine.
The printed manual is a glorified quick start guide. The manual supplied on the CD-ROM tells you how to get the most out of the radio. The touch screen is intimidating at first, but quckly becomes intuitive. |

That’s a great radio and the MyAntenna’s 8010 EFHW is exactly what I’m using. I get great audio reports using the Icom 7300 and the end fed wire seems to work well.

I love mine. Took a while to set up for digital modes but storing the settings on an SD card sure makes things easy.
Easily the best $999.00 I ever spent. I’m running old software on a windows machine but have a new to me Mac Mini for logging and radio control.  Attached File |
