It is advisable to start preparation for a possible stay in the emergency zone in advance. It is necessary to prepare an "emergency suitcase" with things that may be needed when in the emergency zone or when evacuating to safe areas.
Home preparation:
apply protective strips of scotch tape (paper, fabric) on the window glass to increase its resistance to the blast wave and reduce the number of fragments and avoid injury in case of damage;
if possible, equip a shelter in the basement, protect it with sandbags, provide an emergency exit;
if there is a plot of land, equip the shelter at a distance from the house that is greater than its height;
provide the house with supplies of drinking and technical water;
stock up on long-term storage products;
additionally complete the home first aid kit with first aid;
prepare (purchase) primary fire extinguishers;
prepare flashlights (sets of spare batteries), kerosene lamps and candles in case of power failure;
prepare (purchase) appliances (compulsion) for cooking in the absence of gas and electricity;
prepare the necessary things and documents in case of urgent evacuation or transition to protective structures of civil defense or other storage (basements, cellars, etc.);
keep personal vehicles in good condition with a supply of fuel to leave the dangerous area;
as the winter approaches, it is necessary to consider the issue of heating the house in case of disconnection of central heating.
Rules of conduct in a military emergency
Required:
keep personal peace, do not react to provocations;
not to inform about the future actions (plans) of strangers, and also acquaintances with unreliable reputation;
always have an identity document (passport), information about your blood type and close relatives, possible health problems (allergy to medications, etc.);
know the location of civil defense structures near the place of residence, work, frequent visits (shops, bazaar, road to work, medical facilities, etc.). No need to try as little as possible outside the place of residence, work and in unfamiliar places;
when leaving the premises, moving up the stairs of high-rise buildings or to the building of civil defense (storage) to follow the rules of the right hand (as in the movement of motor vehicles) in order to avoid congestion. Pass ahead and provide assistance to women, children, the elderly and the disabled, which will significantly reduce the time of occupation of the shelter;
avoid crowded places;
not to enter into disputes with strangers, to avoid possible provocations;
in case of receiving any information from public authorities about possible danger or measures to increase security, pass it on to other people (at the place of residence, work, etc.);
in the event of armed men, military equipment, riots immediately leave the area;
to increase attention and, if possible, to leave this area in case of appearance of mass media of the aggressor party;
about people who do not focus on the terrain, talk with an accent, have an uncharacteristic appearance, commit illegal and provocative actions, carry out incomprehensible work, etc. - to immediately inform law enforcement agencies, local authorities, the military;
in case of hit in the area of ??fire - to hide in the nearest protective structure of civil defense, storage (shelter). In the absence of suitable storage facilities, use relief irregularities (ditches, trenches, depressions, etc.) for shelter. In the event of a sudden shelling and the absence of civil defense facilities, shelters and shelters - lie on the ground with your head in the direction opposite to the explosions. The head should be covered with hands (if available, use a suitcase or other things to cover the head). Do not leave the shelter until the end of the shelling;
provide first aid to other people in case of injury. Call an ambulance, representatives of the SES of Ukraine, law enforcement agencies, if necessary - the military;
If you have witnessed the injury or death of people, illegal actions (arrest, abduction, beating, etc.), you should try to find out and keep as much information about them and the circumstances of the event to help, search, identify, etc. It is important to remember that you or people close to you may also find yourself in a difficult situation and will need help.
Not recommended:
approach the windows if you hear shots;
to observe the course of hostilities;
stand or run under fire;
conflict with armed people;
to wear an army uniform or camouflage clothing;
demonstrate weapons or objects similar to them;
pick up abandoned weapons and ammunition.
At detection of explosive objects it is forbidden:
translate, move from one place to another;
collect and store, heat and strike;
try to discharge and disassemble;
make various items;
use charges for lighting fires and lighting;
bring into the room, bury in the ground, throw into a well or river.
When you find explosive objects, take measures to identify them, fence and protect the found objects at the scene. Immediately inform the territorial bodies of the SES and the Ministry of Internal Affairs by calling "101" and "102".
"Emergency suitcase"
An emergency suitcase is usually a strong and comfortable backpack of 25 liters or more, containing the necessary individual minimum clothing, hygiene items, medicines, tools, personal protective equipment and food . All things must be new (periodically renewed) and not used in everyday life. The emergency suitcase is intended for the fastest possible evacuation from the zone of emergency - earthquake, flood, fire, in case of aggravated criminogenic situation, epicenter of hostilities, etc. The load in the backpack should be stacked evenly. It is good to have a backpack with a "basement" (bottom flap).
It is recommended to put the following in the backpack:
copies of important documents in plastic packaging. Make copies of all important documents in advance - passports, car rights, real estate documents, car, etc. Documents should be placed so that they can be retrieved quickly if necessary. Some sources recommend keeping several photos of relatives and friends among the documents;
credit cards and cash. Have a small supply of money;
duplicates of house and car keys;
a map of the area, as well as information about the method of communication and the agreed meeting place of your family;
means of communication and information (small radio receiver with the possibility of receiving in the VHF and BM range) and batteries to the radio receiver (if required);
flashlight (preferably several) and spare batteries for it, matches (preferably tourist), lighter, candles;
compass, watch (prefer waterproof);
multifunctional tool, including a knife blade, awl, saw, screwdriver, scissors, etc .;
knife, ax, signal means (whistle, falshfeyer, etc.);
several garbage bags with a capacity of 120 liters. Can replace a tent or awning if cut;
a roll of wide tape;
condom packaging. If necessary, the condom can be used to protect matches and lighters from moisture, as a tourniquet to stop bleeding, securely seal containers from insects and sand, carry water;
synthetic cord 4-5 mm, about 20 m;
notebook and pencil;
threads and needles;
first aid kit. The first-aid kit must include: bandages, adhesive plaster, cotton wool, iodine, activated charcoal (intoxication), paracetamol (antipyretic), pentalgin (analgesic), suprastin (allergy), immodium (diarrhea), phthalazole (gastric infection) (eye drops), plait, syringes, etc .; the medication you are taking (at least for a week) with a description of the method of application and dose; recipes; last names and mobile phones of your doctors (monitor the expiration date of the drug);
clothing: a set of underwear (2 pairs), cotton socks (2 pairs) and wool, spare pants, shirt or jacket, raincoat, knitted hat, gloves, scarf (may be needed in the most unexpected situations), comfortable, reliable shoes ;
mini-tent, polyurethane mat, sleeping bag (if space allows);
hygiene products: toothbrush and toothpaste, a small piece of soap, a towel (there are those pressed in the package), toilet paper, several packages of disposable dry and wet wipes, several handkerchiefs, intimate hygiene products, razor, manicure set;
accessories for children (if necessary);
utensils (preferably metal): bowl, flask, spoon, mug;
food supply for a few days - everything that can be eaten without pre-treatment and does not take up much space, long-lasting (not perishable), for example: high-calorie sweets (dark chocolate (with nuts), a handful of lollipops), a set of products (stew, biscuits , soup bags, canned meat and fish), if space allows - pearl barley, buckwheat, long grain rice, pasta, vermicelli, dried vegetable semi-finished products, vodka, drinking alcohol;
drinking water supply for 1-2 days, which should be periodically updated (water should not be stagnant).
