So have the chance to go for a Walrus Hunt next season, wondering what the Hive here at Arfcom , would recommend caliber wise.

so specialized, I'd ask the guide.

I misread the title of the thread at first, figuring it was a thread about Rosie O'Donnell.

I’ve eaten walrus gonads. Bering Sea oysters.

Ask the outfitter. If it's a shot made to one in the water, it will for sure be a headshot. The 300 magnums should be fine, but that is a very specialized hunt. that would be fun, good luck!

223/556,22-250,243,25-06,270,308,30-30,30-06 are commonly used out here in Bush AK.
Mostly head shot are taken.

I need to get with the relatives and friends and go hunt.

Not a super tough hunt if it is at the right time of the year. I have worked with a bunch of pinipeds and they are not too weary. Anything you can get a good accurate head shot with will likely work. It’s the polar bears who hear your shots you have to worry about...

Watched Jim Shockey shoot one with a muzzleloader on his show. After he shot it he said it's not a hunt he recommended to anyone lol.

I hunted Polar Bear with CNO in 2004 and 2005. The Inuit guides we had shot caribou, seal, and walrus daily. They used 22-250 and 303 British. Odd but it's what they had. What calibers do you currently own?

I don't know, but I suspect they taste like bad fish.  I bet their hide makes good leather though.
