Just made one last CQ ARFCOM call at 1KW. Gonna have to QRT shortly.

OK
I called and heard a very faint response to my call on 14308. Sorry we could not make contact. I am running a 450d with 100 watts and a end fed 88' ft sloper up to about 40' tree so I do not have the best station for DX. Thank you for trying and was disappointed other stations from here did not make contact. Maybe we still can get some interest in getting this started back up. Do you think 40 would be better? I did hear you say my call sign, maybe I just need a few more watts. 73 |

Thats great. then their is hope.
May I remind everyone that this Saturday is the Mississippi QUSO party and I am sure you will be welcomed to contact the operators looking for contacts. Also go to E-ham dot com click on forums and then scroll down to Speciael Event thread. Wings of war or something like that will be hosting a WWII event in many formats. They will looking for your call. This was fun and maybe we can do better next week. Good luck to all of the Hams and 73. |

Antenna got taken out in last week's winter storms, but hopefully will be back on the air next week.

Anyone going to be on this Tuesday. Would be a good test for all of us in the possible path of Florence to make sure gear is working.

I have the radio monitoring the digital guard frequency but will be in and out of the shack tonight and may not be able to respond.

Anyone playing tonight? What Freq? View Quote If 75M is open, you'll hear some stations from Alaska statewide ( Sniper's) net on 3920kc at 0300Z every day ( 1800 Alaska time ) another Alaska net is Motley Group, 3933kc at 0600Z ( 2100 AK time) |

OK shall we try again to make contact again on Tuesday.
How about we still use 14.308 but 40 and 80 are still a option. Starting at 7 PM central time we make a few CQ's on 20. No contact we call CQ again at 8 pm central time no contact we try again at 9 pm. Any other ideas let's hear them. I know it's short notice but I'm going to try tonight. |

[#20]
I can barely make out the cq, will standby in case my noise level improves.

|
[#21]
Well I made one contact from Philadelphia Pa. Had some QSB but we managed to exchange call signs and name.
I am going to try again at 8 PM Central time. If you hear me and I don't answer you I will standby and someone else call CQ and maybe someone will hear the different station. If you want to try 80 meter at 9 central time just post the Freq here, maybe it will be better. 73 |

[#22]
Apple123, good to catch you on the air. Wish I could have hung in there longer but the qsb took you right down to the noise.
Maybe we'll have better luck next time. |

Anyone monitoring during the day? I am setting up my hf rig in my office.
Im also usually monitoring the DMR group now too |

Very good Wayne that was fun. Hope to hear from you at 8 central. Maybe some more operators chime in if not we will try again next week. Do you think 80 meter would be better at night. I heard nothing on 20 meter but loud static crashes when I called at 8 PM central time. The heat index was over 105 here today and there are some bad storms 3 countys North of me.
When I call at 9 PM central I will be on 3.898. 73 |

Well no luck on 80 meter. Next week someone with a better station than mine could give it a try. 88 ft piece of wire and a 100 watts just didn't cut it tonight. I had 10 noise level with spikes up to 20 over so not the best of conditions. Storms all around the coast tonight.
Thanks to any of you who tried to answer me. Till next time 73 |

We were each S9 just above the noise level and I was pumping 1500 watts into a 50 foot Inverted V cut for 75m which is probably the limit of my antenna under current conditions since the majority of the radiation is going to be straight up. 80m is really tough in the summer |

Well we tried. I did hear a little bit of voice but the noise just covered everything up. With that much power you could try 40 meter and hope to make contact with some of us. Maybe we can get some interest on here by next Tuesday. View Quote We asked OP to rename this thread to Tuesday Evening SSB net. He did change it but perhaps we'd be better off removing 80m from the thread header? BTW, 20 meters will be worth trying too. It stays open well into the late evening, during summer months. I've been working quite a bit of DX on 20 meters, late at night. 40 has been my primary 'go to' band lately, with lots of DX. There is some static on 40 but not nearly as bad as 80m. |

Well Tuesday has rolled around again. Has anyone with some power and a good set of ears decided to take the reins tomorrow evening and pick a time and frequency to see if we can make any contacts for the AR15.COM net or forum?
I know a few will try so I'll keep watch for a time and Frequency. 73 |
