Posted in Hometown forum already, but has anyone had any experience trout fishing in Arkansas in March? A few buddies and I are considering a DIY spring break trip to either the White River or Little Red River for a few days in the middle of March. Haven't been able to find much on info, for all we know this could be an awful time of year for it. Ideally we would like to fish off a boat we'll be bringing with normal rod and reel, but none of us are familiar with the area. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Used to fish both the White river and the Little Red. Both excellent fisheries. Best trout on White is from Guion north. Little Red best from Pangburn to the dam. Don't fish if the water is muddy. A countdown Rapala #8 in either gold and black or rainbow trout works very well if spin casting. Not too sure about fly fishing. Several excellent trout docks on Little Red from Heber Springs to dam. Gastons Resort on White is very good also. Best if they are generating power at least some. I loved it.

Was told to listen for the sirens.  Get out of the river when you hear them.
Seems like the section around Gaston’s would be better suited for float fishing (boat)
It’s big water
