I would be happy with either of these bucks if they came by me, but was curious if both were in front of you,  which would you shoot?

I am thinking the tall buck would probably score higher.  Looks like he has a 10" browtine.

Deer in 1st pic seems to have slightly more body mass.

You can boil antlers all day long and you're never gonna make them edible. They're irrelevant to your hunt. Meat goes in the freezer, and thus is the only relevant factor.

I shoot for the freezer, the first buck seems to have fuller body, he'd be my first choice, but either would eat well I'm sure.

Variety is the spice of life. I'd shoot both if given the chance

I would be thrilled with either one, but if they were side by side I would take the wide one.

Prefer the "wide", but both look good and are probably tasty.

Wide everyday as long as it's a Muley .
Not a Whitetail guy but out of those 2 it would be the tall one .

Which ever one offered a clean shot. If both presented the opportunity probably the wide one as he looks older but I like the high, tall tined bucks for sure!

Then shoot the tall one next year.

yup. based on those time stamps, you'll be lucky to see either of them during daylight hours

Dang,  just found out a guy a mile or so down the road killed the wide buck yesterday.  Hopefully the tall one is still around.

Wide. We have a width minimum in a lot of Texas where it has to be 13" which means outside the ears.

I'd shoot the second one, I've passed on bucks the size of the first a couple times so far this year.

Most times tall, but between those two, the wide one.  No comparison.

Same but for some reason I like tall racks as long as they aren’t overly narrow.  At least with wider than tall racks you’re not hitting the ceiling as soon when you hang them on the wall.

Of those two bucks, the wide one, has more mass.   I am figuring his body would be heavy too, just cannot tell with that photo.

Whichever one has the biggest body. I've always been more fascinated with an old buck with a giant body than a younger buck with the largest rack. Apples to oranges but I've always compared it to Texas bucks with giant racks but small bodies vs Iowa corn fed bucks
