Would anyone have a sprinkler system installed and not have some kind of irrigation covering a small flowerbed?

Flower beds are better off with soaker hose but they require a low pressure valve somewhere.

If this is a new install, adding a zone shouldn’t cost too much extra. One more low flow valve with filter (You are using a modular manifold, right?), some poly pipe, and either drip emitters or in-line hose emitters. The only way this would cause a big cost jump is if your controller needs to be upsized to fit one more station.
