Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Small mobile vhf/uhf transceivers recommendations?

Hey guys I’m looking for a mobile rig with a very small foot print. I know there are a few Chinese rigs around 25 watts but I need this radio to be programmable without a computer.  Any ideas?

+1 on 7900. Programming it isn't exactly fun, but it's doable and sane (unlike some of the chinese radios.)

I have the main body mounted under the pax seat in my jeep, and the control head is attached to the
console with some industrial mushroom-head type velcro. I'm on year six in that vehicle, zero issues.
