The Kelty tactical backpacks are currently 40% off with free shipping. These are heavier duty with 500D cordura versus nylon material in their standard packs. Also have the larger heavier duty zippers.

Thanks for the heads up. Kelty makes great packs and these look cool but keep the weight in mind.

It all depends on your application. Their Redwing 50 should be good for an overnight pack.

The only downside I found in these packs is the bottom pouch on the side cannot fit a water bottle. Talking to Kelty they said they designed the bottom pocket to hold the stock of a rifle and not for water bottles. The upper side pockets are open in the middle against the main pocket so you can slide hiking poles or a rifle down there and secure it.

Its basically a useless bottom pocket/pouch.

Prices are out there compared to whom? Yes they are worth it even at full MSRP. 500D fabric with large YKK zippers and not made in China for under $100 when on sale. Not sure whom else you are comparing to.
