Ive got a Suzuki DF140. I used Mobil1 10w-40; after I changed the oil it i noticed the manual calls for API SJ-SM spec oil. What i used is a API SN.
Is that going to screw things up?

I honestly don't have the right answer for you, but I do own 4 boats and I know this... oil is definitely cheaper than a new engine

You'll be fine. SN/SN+ is backwards compatible with SM.
