The can is "Family Home Storage"   Hard Red Winter Wheat.

I have more of this.  How long should I continue to eat this old stuff ?

It looks and smells fine, and the can is in tact.

Provident Prepper has done some good compiling of research on this topic.  Link

Also, BYU has done some studies on 30+-year-old food and found it to be fine.  link Although, the study did say the powdered eggs didn't fare so well.

ETA:  Anecdotally: my Grandma had hard red wheat in both #10 cans and in a couple 30-gallon barrels, all stored in her attic for 30-40 years.  When she died my uncle opened and used it up with no problems at all.

Yes, you will definitely die. Probably not from that wheat though.
I've eaten foods of that vintage and haven't had any problems. Like you mentioned OP, if it smells and looks good I would at least try it

I've been eating this for 11+ years.  I just thought to look at the date and got to wondering.

Rule of thumb for wheat is at least 30 years. I've read somewhere they sprouted wheat found in Egyptian tombs.  I think you'll be fine.

The little microscopic black bugs just add protein.

As I periodically do, last week I checked a 1974 sealed 30-gallon metal can of “hard red winter wheat”. It is good to go. Now I have to grind it.
