Got into a hunting club here by my house, seen some good bucks, no bruisers, but big bodied
Dont wanna jinx it by putting a placeholder, but hell ill do it anyway Edit: Got a 98pound doe this evening in one of the management areas near the house. I got home from school and was cleaning my 35 Whelen and figured I'd go walk around and find a deer. Edge of dark came around and I saw two does in a food plot i walked up on. Only had a shot on the smaller one but hey, that's a 3 dollar deer right there! hit both lungs and the heart pass through. No pics, I was caught up in the moment but I will get pics of the next ones. |

It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

There's always the possibility of getting skunked when it comes to deer hunting. sc2, congratulations on your buck. We've still got a couple of days shy of a month until archery season here, and over two months until any sort of firearms season. |

Wow, gun season isn't until the weekend before Thanksgiving for us. I've seen about 10 in my bow stand this season, but nothing has been inside of 75 yards. Hopefully that 10-pointer I saw will respond to some grunting one of these days!

Place holder. Archery starts this weekend here & I'm gonna put the smack down! I'll hopefully post a pic of a nic bow buck by Monday(10-4-11).

Not my biggest rack or body by no means, but I couldn't help myself. We're only allowed one buck a year here in Indiana, and I can't believe I used my only buck tag on the second day of season. I would've tagged him! Only one buck in archery or in archery/gun seasons combined? |

Sadly, it's just one buck per year with any legal weapon now. |

We just have to follow the 4 pts on one side rule. But you can fill ALL the antlerless "doe" tags you want at $7 ea.! Still a nice deer though! Good luck to you for the rest of the season! |

The state just wants to increase the age class of bucks being killed, and the one-buck rule is their answer. Right or wrong, they figure that people will be selective if they can only kill one a year, and will hold out for a bigger-racked buck. |

Kansas has been one buck per year for as long as I have been hunting. You get used to it. And I believe it does help the deer herd. |

Beautiful Buck. I'm heading up to Northern Wisconsin next weekend to check my trail cams and set up my 2 ground blinds. Hopefully there are some good bucks for me and my friends to take next month (Gun Deer Season). My buddy Roger took a spike a few weeks ago with his Matthews Bow (not sure of the model), so I'll have some deer for dinner on saturday. |
