Here's some video from a day at a kick'n'shoot out there (we always schedule a day there for the kids; they get a little burnt out walking miles and miles and seeing 2 birds). And before anybody has a conniption hens are legal to shoot at a controlled shooting preserve.

This series covers 7/30ths of a second. The bird starts to crumple 1/10 of a second after the spent hull clears the ejection port.

Glen Elder has a youth hunt area (one under-16 must accompany every adult) that has some pretty good birds. Jamestown has some crop fields that we did great on, both quail and pheasant (the part that fronts N 20th Rd). Ringneck Marsh at Jamestown was also pretty good. They all require the free permit, get it on https://kdwpt.isportsman.net Look 'em up on KDWPT website. |
