Anyone have a good checklist and/or template (Word, Google Docs, etc.) for a home emergency binder? I'm starting to put one together.

I'd check the LDS site... probably under Provident Living

one useful emergency item for non-handy folks is a reference sheet for using the generator.

i made this for my sister so she has a chance of getting everything going during a power outage:
http://losdos.dyndns.org/public/misc/generator-howto-rev-B.pdf

also here is the source document if you want to steal it and make changes:
http://losdos.dyndns.org/public/misc/generator-howto-rev-B.doc

print a couple of these out; stick one in the shtf binder, laminate one and hang it next to the electrical service panel, laminate another and put it on a string next to where the generator is stored, and keep one on your iphone/ipad/whatever/etc.

I put a brief checklist for my wife inside the saferoom for her to go through in case of a break-in or home invasion while I am not home.  I'll post it when I get home if I can remember.

Yeah, big thing is document with pictures showing how to turn off water, gas, electric, water heater...etc.

Also schematic of house with circuit map, water lines..etc

In my other house I had instructions on how to turn off breaker, use house/generator disconnect, how to shed loads and how to start/run generator.

Water breaks, power outages always seem to happen when I'm way from home on a work trip.
This lets the wife know exactly what to do.

Time to re-post the old PDF thread link.
https://www.ar15.com/forums/outdoors/SURVIVAL-PDFS-/17-634466/

I'm sure by now a bunch of those links are dead or gone bad, as fast as that stuff was being scrubbed from the net, but I know I still have some checklists in my collection.
