Oh man...those earlier pics didn't do him justice.  That's a nice hog with sharp cutters!  Excellent team work!

So here's the measurements and story. 60" from snout to base of tail, 48" in circumference behind the shoulders.
2.75" on the cutters, and a 12" tail.

We got out to our spot at 9pm, wrapped the golf cart in some camo fabric and put some brown towels on the white roof.
We talked at 1AM about calling it at 1:30. At 1:20 I sad F-it were gone. But I wanted to see what the cart looked like in the moonlight
so I walked about 20'-25' out in front and turned around. It looked pretty invisible but I notice the wife has her rifle up and she's whispering,
"baby!, turn around!" I was like oh shit and turned slowly, brought my rifle up and sonofabitch, there he was creeping into the corn with no noise whatsoever.

I creeped back to the cart, got in, knocked my big yeti cup over half full of ice with a clang and sat down. None of the noise phased him.

We watched him for a few minutes and then called the shot. Dropped him in place, no squealing, kicking, or twitching.

The buzzards are happy and I think they called in support from Rains County.

Big ones like that...yeah, I agree with letting the buzzards have their fun. Nice job!

Ooops! I forgot to pin the trap open Monday evening before I left for work Tuesday morning.
The wife just found three dead juveniles about 1/4 to 1/3 eaten by the buzzards.

Dang.  Well, dead is dead I guess.  On the plus side you know your trap is still functioning properly.

Edit: are you thinking you'll have to relocate the trap now?

Still no hogs...been many many months now.  Lots of deer showing up.  Even saw this guy on the game camera a few times.  Pretty descent buck for this area.  We'll see if he sticks around.

Cleaned out the trap and pinned it open.
Haven't seen a thing.

Two lone boars showing up at the trap, sniffing around, nibbling any bait outside the door.
They stay about half an hour and leave. Still no sounder which to me is just fine.
I was hoping to have our cans out of jail before our next hunt but we may go out this week sometime.

A little update.
Two boars, one is not afraid of going in the trap.
They seem to cross paths during the night as they scare or run each other off.

Seems the Hampshire likes sunset and sunrise to appear. The Russian is a midnite or later.
We will keep feeding over the weekend and may set the trap Sunday night.
Would be nice to double up on these two.

We probably will. We have a blind about 65 yds from the trap.
It's a ground blind on a 8'x8' platform that's 2' off the ground.
We don't dig mice and sneks in the blind with us.

I have seen a big ole pack rat wreck a blind with an unsuspecting hunter.

I just spent $600.00 on my wife’s. It needed bushings and new springs and a rear clutch. We did the front clutch and belt a couple of months ago. I must admit it rides a lot better.

Thanks, either of you know of some good places for accessories?
I'd rather not pay dealership prices for some things.

We're officially pinned open again.
I'm at work till Tuesday morning, were leaving Tuesday evening for 10 days
for an Arizona and Vegas roadtrip. Will be back to vote and pick up dogs on the 2nd.
Will re-bait and reset trap then.

Be safe guys.

Back from our trip. Cams showed a couple of sightings. But nothing nice Oct 30th.
Glad we took the blind down. The Halloween storm brought down a tree from across the
creek and hit our blind platform. We moved it forward 20' or so to make repairs.
Will probably leave it as there's a few more dead trees back there.

Only a few does and a spike buck. Nothing like the big boys we had last year. But I don't have as many cams out either.
How about at your place?

Not seeing any deer during the daylight here.  These guys have all been showing up, but mostly in the middle of the night.  I've been so busy I don't really have much time anyway so maybe it's for the best right now.

I don’t think they’ve put on the growth here they did last year. And a weak acorn crop has made for some tough hunting.
Link Posted: 11/11/2018 11:36:03 AM EDT

I've got several this year that have some weird characteristics.  Like the one in the picture above, one side is drastically smaller than the other (this was consistent as they were growing them in the velvet...it is not a broken antler).  I have seen this on smaller deer this year as well which makes me think it's genetic and not caused by injury to the growing antler.  I really need to thin those guys out.  I like weird and different, but weird and consistently smaller on only one side is not something I want to see going on years down the road.

It's been over a month since we've seen any swine.
Zero, zilch, nada, nothing.
Just deer, and they will go in and out of the pinned open trap without hesitation.
I think they all went to Sparky's.

Wife is having surgery soon so the trap is open till she heals up.
Don't need her messing with that while she recovers.

Well they must’ve headed back we haven’t had a picture in a couple days. I think I hurt their feelings after catching the last bunch.

The wife was able to get the camera cards after the other nights rain.
Had a sounder appear on the night of the 27th at 8 PM. It's been 57 days.
Hopefully we can keep them around a little bit.

Damnit it’s just now dawned on me it’s been over a week sense I retrieved cards! Well I haven’t had any pigs on the cellular cams.

You guys check your camera cards yet??? I am about due to go grab mine too...but lately it has been just deer and turkey so my frequency of getting out there has been ramping down.  i hate hogs, but they do shake things up.
