Haven't trapped much this year, tore my meniscus last fall, and just don't trust my knee fully.

Anyway, with season winding down, I carried 6 330s way back into a swamp, hoping to get a beaver or two. Made 4 beaver sets, and 2 otter.

Good news is I had 4 beaver this am.
Bad news is I had 4 beaver this am.

139lb of pain

Was smarter this time, at least for me.
Tied back foot of 2 together.
Then other 2.
Would sling one over my shoulder, slog as far as I could, then set them down.

Catch my breath as I walked back to get the other pair.
Rinse and repeat.
Leapfrogged this way about 1/2 mile back to truck.

Broke ice walking in, pouring sweat time I got out.

LOL, I didn't reset.
Will give otter sets a couple more days, then hit one last spot, with max of TWO traps next week.

Getting too.old for this.

Sorry about the pain, but nice catches!

Are beaver pelt prices holding out? I've only followed coyote prices and they're BAD.

Damn, and I thought Muskrats were big!

Good thing they weren't any bigger.

I also have torn meniscus in both knees.
Always in pain.
Knee braces do help when it is really bad.

Have you tried a plastic sled with high side to help?

Been using sled at times, too rough here.

Prices are horrible, and no sign of getting better.

Use knee brace occasionally, but hard with waders.

Off to check otter sets!
