For my Daughter who cannot do gluten.

Don't know exactly how long they would last but Costco has some gluten free protein bars.
Kept them for 6 months so far.

My middle girl was just diagnosed this spring with celiac disease.
Tough here in the Bush finding gluten free but we have native foods that last a long time.

My wife is a celiac and yes, in AK bush (up in Katzebue, over in Nome, etc.) isn't friendly for celiacs. Then again neither is rural lower 48 either. We have to take food sometimes.

OP. we do the gluten free protein bars too. We just rotate through them. There are lots of GF snacks out there but your daughter's sensitivity will be subject to what works and doesn't. My wife's celiac is the no cross contamination type as in parts per million will put her out of commission and give her 3 days of brain fog too. We just look for things labeled GF as far as bars go.

I've had these and they're palatable, and they're probably not lying about being GF.

However they stretch the truth quite a bit on portion sizes, they define one day as 240 calories,
and then do all their comparisons against competitors that are providing far more calories per day,
so if you're getting them I'd plan based on caloric requirements and back into the number
you actually need, which is going to be about five times what they claim based on a 1,200
calorie per day used in normal survival ration bars.

I keep these around. Attachment Attached File

The Lara bars come in a few GF flavors, but don’t have a “use by” date. They aren’t bad and will probably last quite a while. The tabs are technically edible, but those would probably be a last resort.
