This isn't what I was expecting, and it even included pics!
(Oh, wait, not GD).

JK. Those little furry bastards will destroy an entire ecosystem. Make nice hats, though.

ETA: those little furry shits cost me post 556. Damn them.

Amazing how the trees can stay standing with most of it gone.

I always cut the trees they leave.

I have come upon birch and cotton wood trees with only a tiny bit in the center holding them up.

Carried 4 330s 1/2 mile back into a swamp.
Carried 4 beavers out.
139# of pain.

WHOLE lot easier carrying a couple dozen snares than 5 or 6 330s!

All the castor glands in these were empty.
I usually trap beaver earlier in the season.

Looking at the size of the castor mounds I've been seeing, and I think I know where it all went!

I will be in a boat or snogo all the time.
No need to walk very far here as the beaver are plentiful and tons on the rivers and sloughs.

Man yeah, I really like watching the critters, but DANG they are destructive little turds!!

On a high note, my son, king of trivia, informed me that back in the 1800's, a French priest decided that they have the flesh of fish (since they swim in the water so much.)  SO, you can eat them for Lent.
