Looking for a replacement for my old Kuiu hoody.  I'd be wearing it as an outer layer on cool mornings (think 60's) during early season hunts and as a base layer for late season (I have a first week of Dec. cow hunt coming up).  I've never owned Merino wool either.  Any specific pluses or minuses for either one?

Gracias

I would like to know as well. I am trying to get some new gear built up. I have decision fatigue from looking at all the different options out there.

Merino is really best as a next to skin layer. I love my first lite shirts and underwear. For a hoody the grid fleece Klamath is really the way to go. Me and my dad both run a merino base with a grid fleece hoody over that. My dad specifically has the klamath and he loves it

I’ve been wanting to get some non biased reviews of FirstLite stuff.
I got set up as a “pro” member for them and Sitka

Thanks for the replies.  I went with a Klamath XL in tan.  Just put it on once (at 115 in Mesa, I'm not wearing it for long) but the fit and feel are great.  I'm 6'1" at 205 so I might have gotten away with a L, but the XL isn't too roomy at all.  And I have long arms so I'm glad I went with the XL.

I'm using it to replace a Kuiu Peloton pull-over that I wore for several years.  I like the added length and feel of the FirstLite.  I still have a bunch of Kuiu stuff that has worked really well and I have little to no complaints about, but going forward I may consider FirstLite first.
