I haven't fired up my liquid fuel stoves for I don't know how long. I've been using the propane models for years now. Good reminder though. I have a trip planned in the near future and need to decide which direction I'm going on stoves.
BTW, an interesting note. I have a dual fuel Coleman I've never taken out of the box. Got it on super saver sale at the Coleman outlet and just couldn't pass up the deal. Though I use the single burner propane stoves most, my favorite is still the Optimus Hiker which burns about any liquid that burns. Because it does, man does it burn hot on Coleman fuel. Kerosene is a lot closer to like a Coleman burner. Unlike the old Coleman's, the Hiker has no pumping. Stove was knows as the Mt Everest stove due to how many times it was used as an expedition stove on climbs.
