.30-06 is as big as I go for now and it’s sufficient for my needs. I’d like a .375 H&H Mag but that’s just for nostalgia, not because I think it’s needed.

Everytime I save up enough for a .50 there seem to be more practical things to spend that money on. A .300 WM and 45-70 will have to suffice. In reality a .308 is as much as I'll ever need.

.45-70 master race checking in. It stays loaded and accessible for that day the neighbor starts screaming "OMG a bear is eating Trystan!"

...master race?! Sweet...I didn't realize I made it.....

.45-70...the best Fudd gun you can have. Cool factor 10...kills anything in North American continent...

LOL!  ... Love my 45-70 SBL for deer & hog hunting.  But in any real-world humanoid fire-fight, they quickly become junk. Name one nation whose military issues lever-guns.

Three M1s shooting '06 AP ammo sounds great if that's all you have. .... Maybe multiple .30-cal ARs shooting 7.62 AP is better?  Or at least the standard M80 stuff.

I actually don't have any AR-10 platforms.  And only limited black tip

I do have an M1A SOCOM, as well as a Garand, both .308 with probably 3k of ball ammo.

My handful of M1 service rifles with a few cans of AP and many cans of M2 Ball should serve my needs well.

No.  45-70 is the biggest I have.  I do have .58 cal muzzle loaders (Minnie balls) and a replica Brown Bess.

Well…. As I recall the caliber of the weapons that finally got Bonnie and Clyde were 30-06. And that was back when they made cars out of steel. Nowadays even the engine blocks are aluminum in a lot of vehicles.

A thought on the magnums….. do you have a river within 20 miles of your residence? What would you do if you had the need to shoot at something on the other side? Might be useful to be able to do that(obviously something like the Mississippi would probably be out of the question)
