It's not too far off.  A lot of depends on where you cut the sheet.  Here's a pic of all four I cut from the same 12x12 sheet.  There's only one that is quite a bit lighter than the others.  Also, the brown areas you see, especially the lighter shades, are a bit grainy and also look a little purplish.  Maybe I'm splitting hairs.  Overall the sheets are a little darker than what you see on fabric but like I said, not too bad.

Haha!  Yeah, that brush fits right behind the front sight and lays flat all the way thru the rear.  Gives just enough of a channel for the sight to clear.  Cheap and easy.

I honestly think I have that same brush lol. Looks like the wally world ones I have and had used before I picked up some dowel rod and tongue depressors for making light bearing holsters

Buddy wanted one for his 1911
I finally made a jig for the belt loops.

I have never had much luck with lasers in IWB Hybrid holsters so I came up with this (to be fair, I saw this done somewhere else).  It's essentially a OWB holster attached to a piece of leather.  This way the laser never gets activated by the leather activating the button.

This is a HK P30 with a Viridian C5L attached.

I was wondering if someone could help me out I'm trying to make a double magazine holder but can't seem to get the spacing down.  I'm using two glock 19 magazines that are 7/8" thick and want to get them about 1" apart.  I'm using .080 Kydex please help they keep coming out too far apart or so close that the two kydex shells won't meet eachother in the space between the two magazines.

Help Please!!
Link Posted: 1/2/2013 10:43:35 AM EDT
[#13]
Tape the magazines to a small block of wood to keep them the distance apart you want. I would go slightly closer than you think if you are going to form the carrier around your body. When you bend the carrier the mags will bow outward. Instead of trying to get the kydex to touch in the middle, just use a small tension screw system made from some rubber tubing, a chicago screw, and a small bolt on the other side.

If you HAVE to have the kydex touch. Add a small piece of foam to your press inbetween the mags to allow that area to have more pressure.

I'm starting to get it down.  And the fed ex man just delivered another box of goodies to try some more.

Is this the Kydex you used? I assume you would recommend it even though it wasn't perfect?
Price says $13.95, how many holsters can you do for that one sheet?

With one square foot of kydex you should be able to make one holster, using 2 6 inch wide pieces (length dependent on length of the pistol).  You should also have enough scrap left from the single square foot to make a mag carrier if you're efficient.

You can also save some cost per holster by using a cheaper, non-multicam pattern piece of kydex for the back half, since it won't really be visible anyway.

Yep, that's the stuff.  I can make 4 front halves out of one 12x12 sheet, then I use the cheaper sheets of black for the back halves.  I can only get two pieces out of a 12x12 sheet of black because I cut them a little longer to make the shirt guard.  The pic I posted earlier of the four holsters together all came from one 12x12 sheet.

Needed something for my GP101 so I could use it on my 3-gun belt.  Foliage green Carbon holstex with Gcode RTI attachment.
I cut the bottom off a little too short.  Didn't mean for the barrel to be exposed.

One of my latest experiments....

I cranked the front of the holster around a LOT. This makes it MUCH easier to conceal at the 2.30-3:00 position.
Just one of those little things.

Yes sir. It's actually an M&P40 with a factory S&W 9mm threaded barrel. By far my favorite handgun. I don't have a can yet but it's in the works.

Awesome thread. I am on page 47 so far reading though it and my eyes are bleeding.

Here is my modest contribution so far. First attempt, I am very happy for a 1st go, but I know some places I will be making changes for future builds.

Again a 1st attempt. Will be smoothing things out a bit. Realized I put my rivets out farther than needed which made the sheath wider than it should have.

Also need to find a less expensive source for this hardware. Knifekits is $2 for a set of 2..Anyone else have a good source, I dont mind buying in bulk.

Did you cut and rivet it then mold it? Also any reason you put the back side piece smooth side out and ruff side in? Rivet placement doesn't look bad, could bring them closer by using smaller rivets.

Curious of a source for those bolts also.
