anybody ever used this? how is is compared to Celox?

comes in 1x1" squares, seems that's the majority of the cuts & such
i get that need patching. (fingers from using knives alot & construction stuff)

with blood stopping gauze that  comes in 2-5' lengths, can you cut it
and still use the rest later? i assume it's sterile (comes in sealed package)

baring any of the above, what's an affordable alternative to those mentioned?
i do have Israeli bandages & surplus IFAK for blow out kits, so this is not what
it's for.

thanks

What I did was to use cosmetic grade (purist available, don't want to mess up pretty faces) Bentonite Kaolin and soaked 4x4's in a solution of that. No need to be sterile, only aseptic, place in baggies.
ETA: I was researching bentonite when I read the OP, I used Kaolin.

will food grade work? how much did you dilute it?

air dry the pads? what did you use for the host?

thanks

Totally unscientific but it does not take much kaolin to accelerate hemostasis, I do not recall, few % points
I boiled about 1 cup of water and mixed about 6-8 heaping tablespoons into it, dissolves pretty quickly, like real thin plaster of paris
Initial batch I just placed on a towel after pulling 4x4's from mixture, let them drain a bit. These expired 4x4's I got from a hospital. A roll of gauze would work well.
Next batch I am going to place on parchment paper and put in low heat oven or just let air dry

thanks; with that affordable option, i can make several sizes
& shrink wrap the larger ones for DIY blowout kits.

if i treat an unrolled gauze roll, can i re-roll it or will
it "crack" off the treatment?
