1. For lmr400 and uhf/vhf what connectors do you use?

2. What coax and connectors do you use for hf.

I just use PL-259's. All but one radio is looking for those, and currently all my antennas are also.

Crimp on N connectors on vhf and up, RG-8x on my hf dipole, LMR400 on my 6m yagi because it's easy to find surplus at the same price as RG-8.

Depends on the application and how much work I'm willing to do.

Generally I use RF Industries connectors, usually crimp UHF (PL259) types. If it's critical I'll use the RFI clamp type.  The few places where N connectors come into play I generally use the clamp types.

Depends on the length of the run and what I have lying around. I don't have an amplifier so power handling isn't an issue... shorter runs I often use LMR240 or similar. I'd use a lot of LMR300 for longer runs except for cost and availability.

PL-259s in most cases. For the indoor connections for QRP work, RCA phono plugs & jacks.

PL-259s for both VHF/UHF and HF.

There was a study a while back where PL-259s and Type Ns were compared on UHF frequencies using test equipment.  I don't remember all the details, but the end result was that the difference wasn't enough on UHF to justify switching to Type Ns over PL-259s.

Typically N on VHF and up. PL on HF. But I use moto gear so I have mini U and my V/U diplexer has SMA...

ETA: I use LMR 400 or 240 wherever I can.

259 UHF is the worst damn thing ever made second only to the mini UHF.

I get the silver plated N crimp types off of Amazon and Ebay.

N for everything on the structured cabling side.

Adapt to whatever I need on the radio end using a 18" RG58 or LMR195 jumper.

Non-harsh environments where the connector will see a lot of disconnect/reconnect cycles.

I use them in the ham world for my low power portable gear, since it gets assembled and taken down repeatedly.
