Not a muskrat. They could dive to get away from a raccoon.

No idea. I've never seen a mink around here. I usually have 6-8 trail cameras out, year round, and this is the first I have caught on camera.

I have seen one in the wild here in WI in ~40 years of wandering around in the woods / lakes / rivers. There are trappers that get them around here.

Why do you have a trail cam pointed at the water?

That ground is normally dry. Heavy, heavy rain came through and, because of the lay of the land, made a temporary lake. Probably got about 4' deep, right there, and stuck around for a day or two.

Had to haul ass over there and remove two or I would have lost them.
