Do the geese ever fly up through the mountains and hit anywhere up that way?

Considering moving to NC AGAIN...
and I’m looking in the mountains
Deer  aren’t as big as Michigan white tails but they’re bigger than coastal deer
Apparently getting an elk season
And 5$ bear tags will help

But I’m just curious about the migrating birds as good hunting has always been a blast

I don't know the answer to your question, but in an effort to educate and inform, I have to tell you that they're called Canada Geese, not Canadian Geese.

I came here for this. Pleas OP, Canada Geese. It's a Genetic group, NOT a nationality.

Not sure about Canada geese but from this link, no ducks. Probably no geese either.

Also this tidbit:
if you live in asheville, you have 2 options.

1) GO WEST TO TN
2) GO EAST TO HIGH ROCK.

no one really hunts here, game on public land is scarce

most drive to eastern NC, northern SC and GA to hunt canned hunting club land

i've never even heard of a hint anyone hunting geese or duck here

in theory this place should be a hunting paradise, maybe 50 years ago, but not these days

in reality there's little productive hunting going on here

Hey I hunt here and on public land

Op as for elk season I wouldn’t get my hopes up, I live in the county they released them in and farmers have been stacking em up..... we’ve heard rumors of a limited elk draw but those are just rumors....

I don’t hunt geese or duck, so not sure about that...

Well damn didn’t know about the Canada thing

Thanks for that tidbit

My uncle has lived up /down that way for some time and has good luck with deer

But...
I guess he’s subliminally telling me something when he says he wants to come up here and hunt whitetail lol

And that’s a shame that hardly any ducks or geese hit the mountains at all

Goose hunting a cut soybean field that got flooded is a hoot
