Vet prices for antibiotics is insane 70.00 for 40 pills. The hell with that. Can you use fish antibiotics in place of the vets?

Or you could just ask for a written prescription and use goodrx to find the cheapest pharmacy close to you…

Which med?

If the medicine and dosage are exactly the same, fish antibiotics are GTG.

I've ordered fish antibiotics off Amazon in the past.  Good stuff.

Do a search on "Aqua-ceph" and quite a few places will come up, both speciality online stores and places like tractor supply.

The manufacturer did a brand change, it used to be "fish-flex," "fish-mox" and the like, now it's "aqua-mox" "aqua-ceph" etc.

My "fish" just finished a 10 day course of 7 year expired Aqua-Mox for a jaw infection.  My fish are now fine.

Spousal unit is raising hell with me about using  7 expired meds on my fish.  I guess I need to get a fresh stock incase my fish are sick again

My last round came from chewy.com.  Some indian outfit as a 3rd party reseller. Same exact stuff that would come at 500x the price with doc visit and a trip to Walgreens.

The items the vet prescribes are the same stuff humans get but be aware of dosage and form.

For sure, all antibiotics are basically the same and the good ones don't cost more.

Yes, order from https://www.calvetsupply.com/

Specifically here: https://www.calvetsupply.com/capsules-and-tablets-fish-aid-antibiotics.html

They also oddly come in human dosage levels.

Find a new vet.  Mine had no problem writing me a prescription when one of my snakes needed injected pip-taz after an operation.
