I bought a big berkey filter for my BOL. I know you are supposed to keep it filled to keep the filters primed. Some times I don't make it out to my BOL for a month or longer. Can I fill it until all the treated water fills the bottom, and then just fill the top again to keep the black filters under water? Or is it going to spill all over the place?

it will spill

BUT, you can fill the bottom then flip the top around upside down to keep the filters immersed if need be.....

(do this in the sink or outside, water will squirt out)

Can you just take them out and let them dry out and put them back in and reuse them when you get back to your location?

Will drying them out hurt them?

What's the problem with letting them dry out and repriming them with the rubber washer?

in our camper, we pull them, leave them wet, put in a ziplock and put them in the fridge. Hasn't hurt them yet.
