Thinking about planting some this year. Zone 8a. Planning to try some in the ground and some in pots. Anything I should know.

I have some in the ground, but it doesn't seem to like the heat or direct sun in Alabama. You'll want to get the non-invasive type if possible, i think Bach 14, or something similar.
