I built mine. First year I had it we misread a river and holed the bottom. I patched it with epoxy and plywood, etc. But water somehow got through the epoxy and rotted the bottom out. Ive been putting a new bottom on it for a couple of years now. (Too busy to mess with it, but it may see water this year again.)
Love the boat, but its heavy. I dont think the plans for my boat are out there anymore. Mine is not stich and glue. It has hardwood runners, chines, and gunnels. And a million silicone bronze boat screws securing the ply skin.
Plans i used did not call for glass on the inner surface of the plywood. If i were ever fool enough to do it again id glass the inside face of the plywood before skinning the boat. Anything to keep water away from the plywood.
