I’m torn between t
Weatherby Element 12 (inertia)
Or the
Mossberg 930(gas)

Can anyone shed some light? The gun will be an all purpose 12 gauge Pheasant, Duck, Goose and Turkeys with the occasional coyote

I'd encourage you to take a look at Benelli's offerings.

If Benelli we’re anywhere near the cost of the two I mentioned I would haha

I'd go with inertia. I have a 930 Tactical and it can be picky when it comes to ammo.

Id personally shy away from the 930.  I have one. Could you spring for a synthetic a300?  6-700ish new? I do believe thats the best value in shotguns right now.

What issues have you been having with the 930?
I sadly can’t spring for that right now
Most of my $$ needs to be saved for the kitchen and flooring remodel we’ve got coming up and me selling the CZ will fund either the 930 or the element

Mainly some random FTE's and light primer strikes. Mine is about 7yrs old, had about 1k rounds through it or so. Ive got a few other berettas though so it does sit pretty much now.

Avoid the 930.  Not worth the hassle of finding out you got a gremlin.

Used winchester SX2s are $400-$500.  Used SX3's are around $650-$800.  Either of those (or a browning gold, which is basically the same gun) will run circles around a 930.
Used Benelli M1s are $675-$900.
There's quality autoloaders from Beretta and Franchi for between $600-$1000.

I just bought a Benelli M2 Field 20G as an all around bird, turkey, small game, and duck gun. With the new shells from Kent and Hevi and the TSS loads from federal I can hunt almost anything with this gun and my 45/70 Henry covers deer and bears.

That said if I was on a budget, most of the Dicks Sporting Goods are getting out of gun sales and are liquidating their stock. Can easily find a Franchi or A300 for under $500 right now. That would be my suggestion.

Stay away from the Mossberg.

I ended up picking up a Synthetic Element 12 gauge 28 inch barrel

Went out and tested the gun
starting off with
5 rounds of 2-3/4 Estate clay loads
5 rounds federal 2-3/4 clay/upland load
5 rounds of 3in BB SuperX
5 rounds of 3in blind side

It ate and ejected all well.
It’s been a few years since I touched off some goose loads and I’ll tell you what... that’s a light gun and those last two rocked me on the first trigger pull as I had forgotten that goose loads are a little more stout than a lead target load lol
