I didn’t think I was going to have much of a bird dog season this year, But he has been amazing in the cold water retrieving and fieldwork.
maybe this year is going to be salvageable after all  now if I could just find some hair dye for him, LOL

Good looking dag! I got a JRT i use for birds but she gets taken off duck duty pretty early. She gets cold too easy.

I’m actually quite surprised how mine is doing in the cold, typically if I’m by the campfire I have a blanket that I throw over him and he loves it... but I think just a sense of a bird being out there he loses all care about how cold it is

You’re a brave soul using a GSP as a duck dog. Any of mine would have chewed a hole in my waders having to wait on decoying birds.
