Truth be told the old mount had some issues. Not with every model - plenty of people out there have used and abused the original mount that came on the Spitfire AR and never had a problem. Enough people did experience issues, though, that we decided to change it. While it may seem like a "Downgrade" in terms of the flexibility the old removable mount used to provide, it is an "Upgrade" in terms of how much more stout and reliable the new type of mounting platform is.

Thank you for clearing it up, it's perfectly understandable to make the change to address problems showing up with the modular design. The T1 interface was designed for a much lighter weight optic, so I could see how it might turn out to be ill suited for a heavier optic even if the difference isn't that much on paper. You guys are great at listening to suggestions and feedback from customers, so as a long time user of this optic I can give some constructive feedback.
1. For QD, I would look into using the Mini-ACOG mount pattern which would make it compatible with aftermarket mounts and be stable enough for the larger optic. In lieu of that, Vortex has a very good QD mount solution in the new magnifier and perhaps this could make it over to the Spitfire.
2. I think the original Spitfire 1x should make a comeback, they are hard to find now and ADM has excellent mounts for it. In the red dot lineup you have both the Crossfire and the Sparc AR, I think these 2 could offer the similar options in the prism lineup.
3. Surprisingly, I'm NOT going to suggest a reticle change. You nailed it in my opinion and it is the perfect 1x reticle. I jokingly call it the "tactical titty reticle".
Thanks again for the information, I adopted this optic due to severe astigmatism and really want to run it for a long time. Even though I've cured my red dot problems with gas permeable contact lenses, I still prefer the Spitfire.
