Yup.
Tikka got some of my funds that would have gone towards this seasons hunting set up. On the bright side, maybe next season. |

I’m going to be buying a lightweight threaded bolt gun within the next couple of weeks... if only it was a LaRue.

View Quote I see Mark Larue as being a more blue collar Elon Musk. They are both big personalities that kind of fall into the "love 'em" or "hate 'em" category. Not a ton of middle ground there. They are both brilliant engineers with rabid fans, as well as vocal critics, who dream big and don't always deliver....on time anyways. I think the Siete is to Mark Larue what the Model 3 is to Elon Musk. They can both produce a few, but scaling up to meet demands seems unlikely, if not impossible. Will we see Musk hit his production targets on the Model 3?....Very hard to say.....Will we see ML successfully scale production to meet demand on Siete....Very hard to say.... There was a lot of big talk back in January when doubt was cast that we would see Siete before SHOT 2019. With four months to go and simpler designs like UUs and MBTs getting all of ML's social media focus, it seems like priorities have shifted. It makes me wonder if there are components to the Siete that are just too difficult to crank out in volume or just aren't meeting ML's high quality standards. I do believe that if we ever see the Siete it will be awesome.....IF |

In the short run, the profit is in producing a known product rather than r&d and later marketing on a new one. Likewise the market for a good economic trigger is a hell of a lot larger than an expensive nitch Fudd gun that is most coveted by fan boyz.
Still I want one more than a new trigger... |

Calling something a Fudd gun just because it's a bolt action is ignorant.
As the previous poster states, there are all kinds of flavors and options, into which, someone can slap that barreled action. Unless ML himself stops avoiding this thread, we can only speculate as to what the true hold ups in production are. It's either a capacity issue or he's stuck on a technical issue. Either way, it would be nice to have a timeline so that anyone still interested in a Siete can plan accordingly. Instead, we get crickets......... Edited to add: Crickets, MBTs and UUs |

Quoted: R&D on a bolt action rifle? He’s already producing the bolts and outsourcing the stocks. He can’t figure out the FCG, chamber and barrel? There isn’t much guess work left. He’s not inventing the new Space Force rifle. Also not sure that high quality barreled actions or complete rifles in a McMillan stock fall under the “Fudd” title. No, this is a capacity issue and I agree that it’s to piss off the competition. Which I can understand, but fat margins and unhappy loyal customers are left in its wake. fwiw I probably have at least a lever action and a bolt action to every semi I own. I don't discriminate.. I am a little shorter on the falling blocks, break, and pump actions though. Now if Mark comes out with a lever action, that would be funny. |

Since then I’ve seen pictures and posts of completed bolts, actions and even a completed Siete or two with proof groups. I understand the QC aspect, but he’s way beyond where you think he is. If he wanted to bring the rifle to market he could. The issue seems to be every time he gets momentum he ends up dedicating equipment and capacity to other endeavors (UU, MBT sale, SUURG, LT204). As a customer, I appreciate all of those things, but stop floating the Siete out there followed by radio silence for another year. Oops, found a hidden stash of dust, so good for the better part of next year (and by then I might need to look for one other stash I suspect is still tucked away...
I don't have a dedicated Siete stash anymore-technically I used it on an RPR over 2 years (and 4 LaRue Rifles) ago. I blew my annual budget on NV, plus I have another night hunting rifle on order. When the Seiti is made, I suspect I will find the funds from some other budget easily enough. |
