I ordered a Para carbine from DS Arms quite a while back, and had a few issues with it. However, DSA did not give up on me.
I originally ordered my rifle back in the fall, and after an 8 week wait, the rifle I received would not even chamber a round of ammo
off of a fully loaded magazine. It would not function well enough to even fire 2 rounds without a malfunction.
The receiver was not cut for the proper topcover, the chamber was very rough, the gas adjustment ring spring was so weak the gas
adjustment ring moved freely, and the rifle would not chamber a round even by hand.
After a call to DSA I sent the rifle back for service. I received it back after being told there were other issues that I had not noticed.
Matt in gunsmithing told me that the barrel was also mistimed, and that the magazine catch was also not correct. Both of which he fixed.
After receiving it back, I again attempted to fire it. This time the rifle functioned just fine, but th rifle was incapable of being zeroed. With the
front sight completely bottomed out, the rifle still shot approximately 6 to 8 inches low at 50yds. I was unable to test it at 100yds due to this factor.
Again the rifle goes back.
I speak with the head gunsmith Matt, who tells me that they have been having trouble with their 16" barrels.
He says that he will check everything out and get back with me. He says that he will have them take a 18" barrel and cut it for me and have one of
their guys take it to the range and test it before it ships out.
After another very long wait, I call the head of customer service. I received my rifle back on Monday.
After a visit to the range, I am pleased to say that it functioned just fine, and zeroing it was no problem. Straight out of the box it fired dead center at 50yds,
and only required a few clicks of elevation to shoot point of aim.
Even though it was a long road, and therefore took us a while to get there, I finally have the rifle that I can be satisfied and happy with.
I would like to thank DSA for their willingness to take care of this rifle and make sure it was correct.
At no time did I have to spend any money to send this rifle back or pay for any repairs.
DSA replaced or repaired everything in my rifle and delivered what they promised.
I thank them for that.
