Guys I have been swamped lately but haven't forgotten about this project. I'll have something worked out in a few days to be able to market these, that turned out to be more of an obstacle than I imagined but a solution is in the works. Stand by for updates.

I have found a machinist to make warden style blast diffuser for the TranQuilo brake. He has made me a couple. How do you attach a photo to this?

I was in on something to cover the threads, but I’m out on adding .25 lb to the end of the muzzle. How about a super thin thread cover that adds hardly anything to the muzzle.

Yes not a fan of the weight either. Limited uses. For me it is nice for hunting with my sons. While a "blast shield" does not reduce sound, just redirecting concussive blast is nice when firing from a buddy stand.

MarkL my words: This thread about a thread protector for your thread protectors is going to give all of you AIDS.

I have a very simple one being made right now, once I have the sample I will post images in another thread. It will be made of quality material that will last for ever and it will be coated. Priced comparable to similar thread protectors.
Will be a small batch. If you are interested please let me know via pm and I will put you down. |

Looking good and it's dillo ready too.
Looks like it snugs right up to the rear slanted shoulder part on the brake. Both of those were something I'd figure were too much hassle when I was pestering machine shops about this. GB Link Hopefully the link works and a) doesn't piss off ARF b) shows TinSpinner that there's real interest in these things, so he makes them c) doesn't turn into too huge a PITA for TinSpinner, to where he says F this and sticks with the real jobs |

.....That looks fantastic TinSpinner!.....And being able to use a dillo to snug it up takes the cake for ingenuity...... Well played, Sir....Well played...
.... Can't wait till you're taking orders.....Put me down for 2-3 plus even if I have to sell a kidney... |

Apologies for the long delay, we have been slammed with back to back big projects here for the last couple of months. Finally got back to this project, I had made a few parts from brass and aluminum, both of which were very easy to machine but unfortunately both had a common flaw, the coefficient of thermal expansion was too great to be able to leave the thread protector on the brake while firing - in other words they worked loose after a few rounds. I worked up a new design from steel that matches the thermal characteristics of the brake, as a bonus it can be snugged up with a Dillo! I have a blast shield in the works too, hopefully I'll get some prototype pics up next week. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/331822/TQ1-520786.jpg https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/331822/TQ2-520790.jpg View Quote |

Can't believe I missed the updates on this thread, just ordered one off GB!
Really like the Dillo aspect of it. Very cool and very creative. Thanks for making these available, TinSpinner! |

Do tinspinners protectors clear the SURG brake? View Quote I don't have the dimensions for a SUURG brake. I would order one but can't seem to find it listed on Larue's website. The threaded portion looks very similar and the last port is no closer to the first shoulder than the holes are on the regular Tranquilo brake. If you have both and the means to measure and compare let me know. |
