So yesterday I was supposed to get a package that showed delivered yet was never delivered. This morning I called Brownells and talked to the nice lady named Penny in customer service. I told her what happened last night and I told her what I found out from the FedEx supervisor, that FedEx Ground delivery drivers can take packages home with them if they don't deliver them on the day they're supposed to be delivered.
When I told Penny that I found that to be disturbing and that it is a recipe for theft, she agreed. She put me on hold while she called FedEx.
A few minutes later she came back and told me that the delivery driver realized he delivered it to the wrong address went back and picked it up yet instead of delivering it to my address took it home. She also told me that she asked the FedEx supervisor if what I was told was true, that ground delivery drivers can take packages home if they don't deliver them on the day they are supposed to be delivered. She was told by the FedEx employee that yes they can. At that time Penny told the FedEx employee that that was unacceptable and they needed to discuss that with FedEx.
Now the good news -After I told her of the dislike for FedEx on this forum and how FedEx has been unreliable in my case, she told me that she could do an executive override on my account that only UPS delivers packages. The good news is if you have an Edge account like I do, two day shipping is still delivered by UPS. It does not matter if you have an Edge account or not, they can override the shipping options and just use UPS.
So if everything was done right on Penney's end, then I have effectively cut FedEx out of delivering packages from Brownells to me.
