Might I suggest some cheap 148g to break it in. Your failure to feeds are typical of the gun either being a hair under gassed, a gas leak at the gas key or a hair of misalignment at the gas port. This might be what you need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4f9stp4SWE Which gas block are you running? View Quote |

Thanks for the input. Using an @gmail address, same as all my Larue orders and never experienced a problem in the past and no Larue emails in my spam folder. I will try another phone call when I have time...

@Vurbano Thanks for the feedback. Looks like you are shooting something other than a 6.5 Grendel, probably .308? After spending time researching my issue last week I believe I have a magazine issue. Apparently the 6.5 Grendel is finicky and the success rate with magazines is hit and miss. I am using the E-Lander 17 round which most people have said runs well, but others have had similar feed issues as I am experiencing. Mine was only jamming only from the right side of the magazine, so upon suggestion from someone I slightly bent the right side feed lip up and it seems to have fixed the issue when cycling by hand. I haven't tried it at the range yet but hope to before long and will report back. Not sure if that helps your issue, but good luck!

Mine is a .308. I did manage to get a pipe cleaner through it so I dont think thats the problem.

@vurbano, I just completed my UU 7.62 18” and put some 149g Federal LC through it. First 6 had a lot of FTE (bolt didn’t come back at all 2). I put my Omega suppressor on And the next 4 ejected hard enough to hit the deflector and dent the case mouth. Thunderstorms rolled in so I had to stop.
I think mine needs a little break in and maybe yours is similar. However, my bolt and carrier were plenty dirty even before the suppressor so I know it was getting gas. This is my first Larue and it is TIGHT. Upper to lower fit requires a firm slap to separate. I cleaned and lubed the gun before shooting so I will run a patch through it and relube before going back out. Hopefully it’s not too wet to shoot. |

Ok, just put 30 rds of Fed M80 through it and it’s a bolt action on every shot without the suppressor. Same thing with 20 rds of 175g Fed match and 10rds of 168g Fed match. Nice groups on both match rounds suppressed and unsuppressed at about .9moa (5shot) and I am sure it will do better if I was using a higher power optic and had a rear bag.
With the suppressor it ejects and hits the deflector and the case goes forward to the 1:00. It will also lock back on the last round. Without the suppressor it goes to the 4:00 but will not lock back nor pick up the next round. Will have to call Larue on Monday. |

Update:
Got my upper back. They said it was undergassed and replaced the BCG. Also provided a target showing 3 shot test and excellent group. I took it to the ranch and tested it out and unfortunately the problem remains. First two rounds of Fed GM 175 ran fine and then on round 3 it short stroked. After that it would eject but not go back far enough to pick up the next round. Put the suppressor on and it will cycle. My wife filmed me shooting on super slow mo and you can clearly see the carrier does not go back far enough to lock or feed. The rounds eject to the 4:00 but hit the deflector on the way out. When suppressed it does feed but it also ejects to the front which is caused by the case just starting to rotate and the rear or the case hitting the back edge of the upper ejection port. I had earlier believed the cases were hitting the deflector when suppressed but the video shows that to not be true. Bottom line is the ejection is weak. I will contact Larue on Monday. |

Wondering what the interest level in a longer handguard for rifle length gas system barrels is , say between 16" and 18"? I know Mark made a longer version available to to guys who ordered 22" 260's and 6.5C, and it makes the guns look allot better.

Anyone about to order a want Keymod handguard, and wanna do my a favor of ordering MLok and swapping handguards with me?
I got mine before MLok was available, and after emailing it looks like Larue doesn't want half a set floating around by selling me just a hand guard |

14.5” 5.56 with 13” M-LOK; beautifully machined. Took 8 weeks from order to doorstep. No dillo to add to the collection, but dust and plenty of other goodies. https://preview.ibb.co/ndebZ7/0_F5_D2993_CDD0_4_E0_B_8735_92_A2_D345545_B.jpg View Quote FWIW, I also ordered an OBR at the same time, and it hasn't shipped yet . . . also at 10 weeks +1 day. Finally - can I ask what the consensus is for adhesive/grease on the upper kits? Loctite? Lithium Grease? Sorry if it's been answered . . . I've read almost the whole thread, I think. |

Quoted: Mine was 8 weeks as well. . . . but that's just for the upper - and not the lower and suppressor (still waiting at 10 weeks and one day). The lowers and suppressors (understandably) are manufactured at a different time - my understanding is that they commence manufacturing the non-upper parts when they complete the upper. I don't mind waiting for the lower (since I can use other lowers), but man, it would be nice to have that 8-week jump on the Form 4's. LaRue's customer service is fantastic.
Long story short, I had a catastrophic failure in my 6.5G Ultimate Upper a few weeks ago. It was entirely my fault, and I told the rep. exactly what happened. I asked if I could purchase some replacement parts to repair the upper. They asked me to send it in, and told me they would make sure it was safe to repair. Two weeks later, I had a new barrel, upper, BCG, and charging handle on my porch. They didn't charge me a dime, and even assembled it for me. Mark - release the Siete, and I'll buy one pronto! |

View Quote It sounds to me your gas port is about 0.001-0.002" too small. That's just enough to cause a short stroke. As you say when suppressed it cycles. To me that sounds like under gassed in loud mode and when in whisper mode you are forcing MORE gss back to cycle the next round. As for your ejection pattern; it could be caused by same issue. Possibly. Take the gas block off and measure the gas hole of barrel and block with a (GOOD) caliper. If its too small tell larue. I mean what exactly did Larue do to test? Did they simply put your upper on THIER barrel and fire it? I recall a NutnFancy LaRue video from way back where he had the same problem and send his rifle back to LaRue. Several times. He finally ended having to fix it himself by drilling the gas hole a couple thousandths larger. Problem solved. Hey it happens. |
