Yes, Vortex CS saved me on this one for sure. The packaging was perfect and damage free so the turrets were obviously stiff/bent prior to arrival. But... because Vortex took care of it, it's a non-issue.
20 years of EE business with over 460+ on feedback I've learned a thing or two.
I have now got to where I take pics of things I sell, if the value is something I can't absorb, as I pack it as well as the final result. That way, I can document how it was packed, as it was packed, and what condition it was in when it left my hands.
I use a very small PO Box which means if stuff arrives damaged, a Postal Clerk has to physically hand me a fucked up package. I always carry my phone which allows me to take pics at the Post Office immediately upon discovery of a damaged package.
Not long ago the Postal Clerk handed me the below package, obviously tore open, and several .45 Cal 230gr bullets hit the floor right in front of several customers... hard to deny liability on that one.
Fortunately I am WELL KNOWN at my local Post Office so that might help some day, maybe not.
