TNVC recently completed a Nightfighter 101 class at Pro Gun Vegas in Boulder City on Oct 29-30. This was a “super class” for us; 37 students that we divided into two ranges. Lots of fun, and a Try Before You Buy proceeded this class the night before.
We enjoy coming to Pro Gun. The facilities are great, the hosts amazing, and the ranges work well for our class. Plus, we add the ability for the NVG machine gun shoot—icing on the cake!
The weather was simply amazing for us. Temperatures made for easy conditions to work in, and after the very windy class from last spring, a slight breeze was easy to work around.
We saw a wide spread of night vision devices in this class. Everything from green PVS14s to white phosphor binoculars. No student complained of being under-equipped, we were able to complete all the drills with little difficulty.
While the course is called a 101 class, it really is an advanced course with regards to the application of technology into firearms training. We encourage students to bring their existing gear—we will help you get the most out of it and if you decide you need/want to purchase gear, purchase after this class when you can make an informed decision.
However, there are some things that can help you have a better experience at the course: bring a known and reliable carbine; hobby guns, while fun to create, often cannot keep up with the intensity of a class. Also, following the packing list from the website and the packing list will make sure that you have the minimum and correct gear needed to complete the class.
Our 2023 schedule is out and live on the website. We will return to Vegas twice next year for both the Try Before You Buy and Nightfighter 101. It is a great venue for us to train at, and we will be there for years to come.
As always, several companies stepped up to offer students swag and such for their attendance. We appreciate their generosity and are proud to have them associated with our classes.
