Anybody fire the JAKL suppressed? I hate ARs throwing gas in my face so I would love to hear if this fares better. It looks like it should.
ETA: I just bought one, so let's find out. |

@Josiah
When will just the upper be available? I have a SBR lower. I don't have a need for a pistol lower. |

So it will only work on a lower threaded for a buffer tube? No BRN180 lowers is that correct?

I want one and will eventually get one.
I wish it had full ambi controls though. That would have made it a can't miss imo. |

Did these go in stock on Friday the 20th? I refreshed quite a bit from 4-5PM EDT and never saw them go in stock. :(

View Quote Idk it's another huge project but it would be cool to see a lower more match the lines and the aesthetics of the upper. Throw in some ambi controls too. I totally understand why they used a standard AR-15 lower and I'm really glad they did. And I'm not saying change that at all, I'm just saying maybe something sort of in the same ballpark as a billet lower would be an welcome upgrade. And then of course if it was a standard AR-15 lower just with ambi controls, of course there would be a market for AR builders too. Keep the buffer tube threads, keep everything about it the same, just literally still an AR-15 lower but dress it up and give it some ambi controls. Attached File |

But I saw them just before 4p, 353-354 and they sold out in about 20 seconds. I was able to get mine by refreshing every 15-20sec from 345 and used buy it now when it appeared in stock. I agree about a billet or billet-like lower with more blocky lines to match the style of the upper. I’m a righty so I don’t care much about ambi but a more blocky lower would tie things together aesthetically. I believe the ambi lower you posted is what the old Arf billet lowers were based on. They were pricey though. |

Got my JAKL out to the range today and managed to break it. Spoiler, it was my fault, simple ignorance.
I contacted PSA and already got a reply this evening. So I should be back in business soon, and wiser because of the experience. Aside from that issue, I really like it the way it shoots, most notably the lack of gas in your face while shooting suppressed. PSA JAKL First Shots... I Broke it!! Seriously. |

Maybe a 300 BLK Jakl and a Micro Dagger for Christmas?

Big plus for the asymmetric steel insert- you guys had your thinking caps on there.
Externally, I lost my mind over seeing the KelTec "handful of screws" design methodology being incorporated, but now I understand. You are going to have to look a little harder on McMaster and find the right length though- when dudes start running balls out, full auto, suppressed, etc... all those little recesses are going to hide GUNK. The screws being used now are a touch too short. ALSO- for Gen 2, I recommend a semi-circular flange on the gas plug that interfaces with a keyway the gas block- like on a T-91, if it had rotational settings. Perhaps this can be revised before the .300 BLK guns are made? This is still extremely exciting! |

I finally got to shoot my JAKL, and boy it's fun. feels like it runs better than my BRN-180. My next step is to change the bird cage to a keymo flash hider, and see how it does with a can.

Finally got to shoot mine this past weekend. Initial impressions are love. Shot it suppressed and back to back with my PWS 11.5 upper. Pretty similar, but liked the Jakl ever so slightly more. No gas to the face with my YHM Turbo K, which has hellacious back pressure.
