Has anybody else had problems installing their Super Configurable Safety Selector?
The
installation instructions refer to an "Oval Shaped Post", which seems to have two different profiles that force the levers to be installed onto the selector barrel in a specific orientation. The pocket in the lever needs to slide over the more rounded (oval) end of the post, otherwise the hole does not line up with the captured set screw.
I ordered two Ultra Duty LPKs during the Black Friday sale. Both of the selector barrels seem to have the oval, or more rounded, profile in a different orientation from the instructions. In other words, on the instruction sheet, the rounded end on the left side of the barrel faces down. On my selector barrels, the oval profile faces up.
Essentially, this causes the selector levers to point in the wrong direction. If I try to slide them on in the correct orientation, the hole in the lever does not line up with the set screw.
Even more confusing is that the slot is facing different directions on the two short levers that I received (one with each kit).
I'm not sure whether the selector barrels were machined incorrectly, the wrong handles were included in my kits, or if it is just plain user error. I did email Geissele technical support a few days ago with no response.
